The average college student has plenty to worry about. For students and staff at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Rockford, parking lot safety was an added concern on top of the exams, presentations, and GPAs.
Thankfully, their concerns didn’t go unnoticed. In November of 2013, the college opted to purchase six 36” Emergency Call Stations. The Call Stations are mounted to light poles throughout the parking lots. The College worked closely with the Rath Team to strategically place the phones in locations that offered the greatest security and functionality.
No serious incidents have been documented since the install, but students and staff have said that they do feel safer now that they have someone to contact for help. Staff and students can focus exclusively on their studies and activities now rather than on parking lot safety.
